Lingyi Liang, MD

Professor of ophthalmology of the State Key Laboratory of Ophthalmology, Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center, Sun Yat-Sen University, China

Dr. Lingyi Liang is currently a professor of ophthalmology of the State Key Laboratory of Ophthalmology, Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center, Sun Yat-Sen University. She is a founding member of Asia Dry Eye Society, a committee member of Chinese Dry Eye Society, a committee member of Cell therapy society of Guangdong medical association, and a committee member of joint academic association of Chinese and Russian Medical University. 

Dr. Lingyi Liang obtained her M.D. and Ph.D. degree at Sun Yat-sen University. During Nov. 2007 and Dec. 2008, she studied as a clinical visiting scholar and fellow in the Ocular Surface Center, Ocular Surface Research and Education Foundation in Miami, USA. 

As a PI, she has obtained 14 funding support, including those from the National Natural Science Foundation. As the first author or corresponding author, Dr. Liang has published 13 academic papers in SCI journals, including Ophthalmology, JAMA Ophthalmology, AJO, etc. Dr. Liang is a reviewer of peer review journals such as American journal of ophthalmology, Plos one, etc. She is the invited speaker of important academic international meetings such as APAO, Harvard international cornea workshop, Kyoto cornea club, International ocular surface society annual meeting, Asia dry eye society summit, Cross-strait eye forum, etc. 

Dr. Liang’s primary research interest has been working on the pathogenesis and treatment of ocular surface diseases. Two major focus of her research have been ocular demodicosis and mesenchymal stem cells transplantation for severe inflammatory ocular surface diseases. Other research projects include dry eye, pterygium, ocular surface reconstruction and corneal transplantation.
